Jose still thinks he has a seat at the top table, will try to prove it but recent results won’t agree with him!
Jose Mourinho was sacked by Roma but the decision was received with split reaction and mixed emotions amongst the club’s fans. So what’s next for the self acclaimed Special one? Most likely a job in Saudi Arabia or a return to Premier League? Or you never know, a job back in his homeland?

I'll admit their league position in Italy was not great at the moment. But given the financial turmoil resulting in a lack of good signings, this decision seems a bit wrong. As well he still was quite popular among the fanbase.
Could have given until the season end to see what would become but they took the easiest route. . He's clearly given them a European title and another European final. Sorry, but for the club that have not won anything since 1961 in Europe that was too much!
Were Roma really expecting him to win the league or finish top 4, despite how strong the Serie A has become now? If the answer is yes then they were barking at the wrong tree!
He's been given zero money and the club has been on the slide since before he took over. Relying on free transfers and loans. He hasn't improved their league position but they aren't much worse. They probably wouldn't have been able to attract the likes of Dybala without him so interesting to see where they go now. De Rossi seems the ideal choice but not fool themselves. Roma will get a few better results for a while, but they will return to mediocrity very soon.
He'll land on his feet, he always does but maybe it’s time for to gracefully take up a position in Portugal on an easier league or wait for the national team after the Euro 2024. Or in Saudi. His approach is now dated and he's too old for theatrics. And that comes from somebody who always admired him. He is unique. An amazing coach and what he's achieved is very commendable.
Serie A teams though have been highly competitive recently with clubs adopting a structure where they've acquired talented youngsters and have had coaches to implement modern style of play but Roma has been an except that rule. With Mourinho they've moved backwards their recruitment and game play became worse.
So is there any chance for him to go back to Premier league? Keep in mind that Newcastle United maybe will see him as a suitor to replace even on a temporary basis to Howe if the slide continues. Don’t forget as well that the owners at Newcastle they want the team to compete at the top trying to win the league. I don’t say that Mourinho can do that, but definitely he will not be shy to start saying big things that will bring music to the ears of the owners.
Personally, I don’t see him going back in England, but you never know. Mourinho definitely will think that he still has a seat at the top table and he will try to prove it.
