The international striker returned to action in Saturday's game against Brentford after a brief absence from Unai Emery's plans.
He was the one who opened the scoring for Villa in the 38th minute, but also the one who in the 80th minute managed to get the goal for the 3-3 result against the "bees", who had pulled off a remarkable come-back with three goals in the space of 9 minutes in the second half.
The Birmingham side have also shown signs of fatigue on the pitch, but as long as Watkins is healthy and “hungry”, concern about the ending of this season will remain under control.
